About Gangnam Tofu House

Gangnam Tofu House is a korean restaurant in Fremont, California. It is listed at 3619 Thornton Ave, Fremont, CA 94536, which places it among the local businesses of Fremont that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under tofu restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Fremont, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–2:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (510) 792-2252. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, gangnamtofu.menu11.com.

Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 224 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

This is our go to place for korean food in Fremont for years. The food has been consistently good. We always order beef bulgogi & tofu soup combo for our family. We love the beef bulgogi. It has sweet savory sauce with tender beef. The tofu soup can be hit or miss. We got seafood white soup (not spicy) for our kiddo - it was good but I personally prefer medium spice for more depth of flavor. The only downside was the parking. The parking was limited and got crowded during lunch or dinner time. So, most of the time we parked on the street nearby or we just do take out.

If you are looking for the gold standard for Korean food in the Bay Area, look no further. This spot has, without a doubt, some of the best banchan I’ve experienced - the variety is impressive, and the freshness is clear in every bite. The kalbi is truly phenomenal - perfectly marinated, tender, and grilled to perfection. Beyond the food, what really sets this place apart is the hospitality. The owner and the entire staff are incredibly kind and welcoming; they make you feel like family the moment you walk through the door. It’s rare to find a place that hits this high a mark on both culinary quality and genuine service. Highly recommended!

The best Korean food I've had in a long time. My wife said her kimchi tofu soup was the best she has had in 20 years, and that was when she worked at a Korean bar. Our daughter loved the ramen and I couldn't help but laugh and take a picture of the spice levels. This will be a must stop location for us if we are ever near Fremont.

20$ Seafood pancake, barely any seafood. Thick Greasy flour. no side dishes. Specs of tiny burnt pieces dusted everywhere. (must not be good for health). Sauce too sweet. When I spoke to the lady, I couldn’t get any side dishes to make up for it. Though, the kitchen was closed. It smelled good from outside, but the food was so sad. I came here years ago, and had good memories of it. But seem to have changed. I really regret spending 20$ for greasy flour. I’m hungry, but went home and ate a banana instead. I should have read the one star review and not buy this. It gave me an authentic Korean household cook feel, initially, but now I just feel crappy. The last two times I purchased from here was disappointing.

I went to this place for the first time last weekend and I did enjoyed the food a lot. The service was good and the food was also decent. They have so many different kinds of banchan, and they all tasted fresh and delicious. The hot stone bibimbap was good and not oily. We also ordered a kimchi pancake, I thought the flavor was good but since it was on the thicker side, so it lost a bit of the crunch and it was very filling. Overall, I like the food here and will definitely go back.
